Practice Areas
Jennifer L. Spears focuses her practice on all aspects of family law, including
divorce, custody, support, collaborative law, Protection from Abuse, adoptions,
termination of parental rights and name changes. She is a member of the firm's
litigation practice handling civil matters.
Professional Activities
Ms. Spears is a member of the American, Pennsylvania, and Cumberland County
Bar Associations (Family Law Sections). She is the past-President of the
Young Lawyers’ Division of the Cumberland County Bar Association (CCBA), also
serving on the Cumberland County Bar Association’s Board of Directors
and Bench-Bar Committee in 2006. Ms. Spears is the current Chair of the Family Law Section of CCBA. She is a member and past-Treasurer of the
Collaborative Professionals of Central Pennsylvania (CPCP). She is also a
member current Vice President and past Treasurer of the Carlisle Chapter
of LeTip. Additionally, she has served as President and a member of the Board
of Directors of the Carlisle Early Education Center. Ms. Spears has volunteered
for the Partners’ Program (currently renamed), where she speaks to
high school students about family issues and responsibilities, and has participated
on a United Way Funding Panel for Youth Intervention Programs and the American
Literacy Corporation’s annual Read-a-Thon at Dickinson College. She
is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Education
Ms. Spears is a 2000 graduate of The Dickinson School of Law of The Pennsylvania
State University. She received a B.A. in Political Science from the State
University of New York at Geneseo in 1997.
